Subaru upgrades

I have found that I really LOVE having my ipod available to listen to when driving. Kenny did some research on putting an adapter in the Subaru.

Kenny and Tom took the whole console apart one night, I had to stay away from them because it scared me that something was going to get ruined. I feel bad for not having more faith in him, as he is awesome at whatever he does :)

He took EVERYTHING apart. The stick shift and everything was off.

Like I said I was inside for most of the time, and when I came out and saw this...I had to go back inside!

Wow...I wasn't sure it would ever look the same!!

Then before I knew it, it was all put back together!! I was very excited :)

Now to use my ipod, all I need to do is push a button!! What a cool device.

Here is the end picture. The little black round button you see on the bottom left of the picture (just below the emergency brake) is what he installed, plus everything in the on the radio/behind the radio and in the center console...pretty impressive!!

Thanks Kenny, you totally awesome!! I never cease to be impressed by you. Love you!!

Dress shopping

I went wedding dress shopping with Rachel and her family. We had a really great time! It was so fun to see her in those dresses, she looked fabulous!!

I can't post many pics, as I don't want to give the dress away on how it looks!

Her sister and I even tried on dresses ourselves!! That was fun too. For most of the night we either had dresses on or we wore veils and/or tiaras!! I think we all felt like a Princess!!

We also found a great buy on a coffee table at RC Willey Outlet. We packed it in the back of the Subaru and somehow Tom fit too...I'm still stunned!

Thanks Rachel for taking me with you!! I had a great time!

SUBARU!!!

For the past year we have been looking for a new car. Not new/new, just new to us that still has some good miles left on it! I am totally against buying a new/new car as you lose so much money on its worth when you drive it off the car-lot. So we've been looking for a nice new/used car as we figure the van is on its last legs and didn't want to find ourselves desperate for just any car.

We/I decided that we needed something that is safer in the snow...especially with these Utah winters! I grew up around Subarus, but had never purchased one. I know the family/friends I have that have one, just love them. The choice wasn't very difficult. We figured it would be a great family car, it has AWESOME crash test ratings, it's also a little higher off the ground than most cars its size, so it makes it more comfortable to get in and out of.

We've test driven quite a few. One night we stumbled upon Nate Wade Subaru in Salt Lake City. We got the keys from the salesman and he asked, "oh, I forgot to tell you, it's a stick. Is that ok?" OK???, of course it's ok!! We love driving sticks! I feel like I'm in so much more control when I drive a stick. It was love at first sight and first drive. It's an XT so it has a bit more pick-me-up than a normal car. It was so fun to drive and luxurious at the same time!

Here we are that night! They encouraged us to drive it home that night and then come back the next day for the paperwork. It rained and snowed as we drove home. I like to think that the Subaru gods were pouring out their approval =) It was also extremely windy out on the drive home, I didn't know that until we got home and Kenny mentioned how windy it was in the Saturn. I didn't feel a thing in the Suby, no wind pull or push. It was sooo nice! I have been in love ever since:)

I don't want to put a ton of miles on it, as my work would do. So after work, I would think of reasons that I needed to drive the Subaru for small errands in the area. I even had a difficult time sleeping the night we got it. Call me crazy.

We have been very happy so far. Thank you to Subaru for being such a great brand. I am excited to see how it performs this winter! I never thought I'd look forward to driving in the snow.

Back in time....

My mom sent me all of my old dance costumes. There was only one thing to do...Try them on!!!

We had a lot of fun one night, I was trying them on and Kenny was being the Paparazzi!

That's about all I can post on that! The rest of the costumes were way too revealing and tight...Kenny is the only one who can see those! ;)

Thanks Mom for sending me these costumes!! We sure had a lot fun! This will provide hours of fun for our future girls!

Las Vegas & XC Skiing

So we had a lot of fun one day as Carrie, Mike, Mel, and I went cross country skiing up in Parley's Canyon at the golf course. It was the end of the year for skiing and it was kind of a wet day. The snow wasn't great, but we had fun. I think we really enjoyed the after-party...hot chocolate at Starbucks!!

Next year we will do more earlier in the year!!

Then we went down to Vegas with Kenny's Mom and Grandma... Kenny had surgery that morning and once he was d/c'd from the Post-op, we packed him in the back of the van and headed to Vegas!! I had a classmate from school that helped take care of Kenny in Post-op. It was really great to catch up with her! I didn't want to tell her that we were packing him in the car, I felt kind of bad about it. I don't think he was loving the idea, but we ended up having a great time down there.

We searched high and low for a slide/playhouse device for the girls :)

Here is Madelyn making us ice cream in a little house she didn't want to leave!

Here is Kenny and I as we were heading to dinner. Yes, this is proof we went down right after surgery. What a trooper!!!

Thanks Kenny for being such a good sport, we had a great time!! I LOVE you!!

Floor seats @ Jazz Game!!

Kenny's uncle Dave gave us a great opportunity!! He let us use his tickets one night to the Jazz game and we were one row up from the floor. I can't believe how big these guys are!!!

It was so exciting sitting that close to them!!

A really exciting thing that happened was William's was fouled as he went up for a shot in the second half and stumbled into the seats right in front of us. Kenny and I made sure to touch his shoulders and give him 'game pats'!

****Search for the NBA commercial "We love you" on youtube and you will see Kenny and I in it!! They have the shot of Williams :)****

It was a really fun game!! They had a lot of fun half time festivities. One included a miniature bear like the larger bear mascot. It was hilarious and they put on a good show.

Thanks Dave for making this possible, it was such a great night!! They included dinner in it and everything! What a fabulous night =)

Winter 2010

One morning we woke up to this!! There was so much snow everywhere!

I can't remember which day it was, but on a morning like this I was able to go snowboarding!! It was so much fun, it has been too long since I've been!

Some more pictures of that day! As much un-fun as snow is to drive in, it sure is beautiful to look at!

Have you ever noticed how quiet it gets when it snows? It kind of muffles all of the outside noises and makes it very peaceful.

This is a view out of the back of our house. The grill and smokers were COMPLETELY covered! Sometimes you wonder if it will ever melt.

And then a day goes by and it's gone...kind of crazy here. Snow is usually followed by sun.

This was on my way home from snowboarding.
I was driving home and looked over the hill and saw these beautiful sun rays coming down. It looked so beautiful with all of the homes covered in snow!

What a great day!!

Speaking of great days...Kenny and I went cross country skiing up in Mill Creek Canyon. It was beautiful. We had a great time until we went down the hill. The whole way in was uphill, so when we turned around, it was all down hill. It was an icy day and the tracks were fast.

I don't think Kenny will ever completely forgive me for what happened next. He got going really fast down the track and crashed pretty hard. He hurt his thumb...long story short...he tore a ligament in his right thumb. It's been 3 months and he is still trying to get over it! He had to have surgery and everything! It's been an awful experience for him.

He's done a really good job and has been working with Therapy on it.

I hope that he someday will forgive Cross country skiing as well and join me again...as long as it is flat. I didn't particularly like the trail we were on anyways.

Here's looking down the trail.

And of course, as I mentioned above, sometimes the snow just melts in a snap! Here is a picture off our back deck of a rainbow after the snow/rain/melt/etc :)

Thanks Kenny for going with me to ski...I am so sorry about your thumb.
