Fish Camp Alaska!!

HIGH ROCK FISH CAMP!!! Kodiak, AK

Mom and Dad called me urgently asking if there was a way for me to come up to Alaska this summer in July. Unfortunately Kenny was busy with school, but miraculously I was able to get the time off. I met Beau and Bekah in the Seattle airport and we flew the rest of the way together. It was sooo nice being back at fish camp

We went up to Dog Salmon and saw this bear, that was kind of fun:) It'd been awhile since I'd seen those furry creatures!

We did lots of fun things including going out to low tide and seeing all of the sea life, including this sunstar.

We also went out to Rodman's Reach and the cannery. Rodman's reach was really fun, we were on the beach with the huge waves crashing and then we walked through lupine fields to get to the petroglyphs. They were so cool, it's been too many years since I've seen them!

Some nice family pictures in the Lupine and
by the waves. It was such a gorgeous day!

The next day the new Princess of High Rock came with mommy Noelley. She had such a great
trip out flying on the little airplane...in fact Noelle said that Zoie informed the pilot she was going to drive the plane =)

We forgot Zoie's special
lifejacket at camp when we picked them up at the village. We were able to borrow a lifejacket from the village and the saying on the back couldn't be more right!

She loved riding in Papa's boat. She was so excited.

When we got back to camp, Zoie wanted to ride the four-wheeler with me, we had a lot of fun. She thought it was great!

Zoie had a lot of fun inside the cabin too!

Even though she couldn't eat some of the treats we made (because her stomach gets upset), she sure had fun helping us make them!

She was an excellent cinnamon roll maker!

Beau sure liked them! (I think we all did, they were pretty much gone in a matter of minutes). It was this fabulous and easy recipe I found on a blog. Sooo yummy!

Zoie and I were making yummy white chocolate and cranberry scones...soo good!!

She also enjoyed reading with Nana and Papa and just about anyone else who would read to her!

I had a TON of fun with her...as always:)

We had fun going on frequent walks with Zoie out on the beach. It was kind of windy and cold up there, but we still had lots of fun!

I sure love going to fish camp!

We went for a walk down to bun point, it was so fun walking by the beach!

Zoie had a great time pretending to drive the bobcat! She loved it so much, but when it came time for Papa to drive it with her, she got scared...it is pretty noisy!

On our walk back home from bun point, the tide came in too far, so we had to hike over the top.

Mom's rhubarb patch was growing out of control. Lucky us!!
We made some yummy rhubarb desserts:)

Then we went and picked up our crab pot.

We had fun prepping the crab and then cooking it.

Our buoy swing was set up by Dad, Zoie had fun swinging on it

Then we went down the cove and shucked and ate the crab...YUMMY!

And then we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores out of them =)

One day we went up Upper station to go hike up to the lake

Dad had to bring the dinghy into shore when he anchored the boat.

Then we hiked up to the lake and took a family picture.

Back at camp it was time to mend nets

Beau had fun with Zoie as he swung her around in circles.

Dad put up the new basketball hoop that he, Herbie, and Derek made.

They made it and put it up "Alaska style"

I had lots of fun reading with Zoie too. She loved her book, "No more monsters jumping on the bed!". Now I really like that book:)

Nana and Zoie making Orange Cinnamon Rolls...so good!

Then we had more fun at low tide while Zoie was here

We saw an octopus at lowtide, which was really fun!

Even the fox liked lowtide, as he found breakfast there!

Then the boys had buoy races

Then it was time to say goodbye to fish camp...what a sad day!! We had so much fun!

We got weathered in at Kodiak and spent the day at the coast guard base and all over the city.

Zoie got a boo boo while playing, we fixed her up

The plane ride home was crazy. We all had problems rebooking our flights. It was super foggy in the morning so they canceled the flight. Then the rest of the day was blue sky!! But everyone had been weathered in from the day before so all of the flights were taken for that day. I did end up getting a night flight into anchorage and then took the red eye home, I had the middle seat, it was the last one available! The day I got home, after a red eye, we hiked to The Living room again with Kenny's Mom and cousins

What a fun trip!! Thanks everyone for making it possible!!!
