Christmas '09

Merry (belated) Christmas!!

This Christmas it was our turn to spend it with Kenny's family. They all flew out to SLC and we got to spend our 5th Christmas in our new home!

I wish I had taken a picture with all of the lights on! I know our electricity bill went way up, but it was fun having Christmas lights up!

We opted to buy a live tree...it smelled so good! They were shipped in from a tree farm in Oregon. I was happy to learn that they were not from Utah...since there are so few trees!

Here we are eating at the Pie...it is a favorite!! I love their cheese pull-a-part! Soooo good!

I am wearing my early Christmas present from Belinda...a smartwool vest! It is so warm!!

Here is another picture of all of us at the Pie.

I have been able to gather recipes from Mom for traditional Christmas cookies and goodies!! I made our neighbors popcorn cakes and other goodies.

I spent a lot of time making almond roca, snowballs, and caramel popcorn. I had no idea the caramel popcorn would be such a hit!

Here is Mark and Stacy chillin' on our loveseat eating the popcorn.

I made two batches of it and it was gone in the first 1 1/2 days!!

Needless to say, I made some more:)

When that was was finished...I opted not to make more.

We went shopping one night before Christmas and Kenny felt the urge to buy the rockband set. I was scared as I had already purchased Guitar hero world tour for us to play over the holidays. Luckily Tom knew that and intercepted Kenny as he tried to buy himself an early Christmas present.

So that night when we got home, Kenny talked me into letting him open the present early so we could get on with our band playing! Although he knew what he was opening...he did a great job at acting surprised!

What do you think? =)

We spent A LOT of time playing as a band! It was so much fun. Our voices were hoarse and our fingers were sore, but it was such a great time!

Tom was able to multi-task as he sat in the recliner...IM'd his girlfriend...and played the Bass.

Uncle Dave gave us tickets to the Jazz game...we had such a blast! That was the first night we met Rachel, Tom's girlfriend...soon to be fiance!

After the game we had some snacks provided by the Pie...again :)

It was super yummy and we had a great time hanging out with each other!

Then of course while everyone was here, we had to take them to sub-zero ice cream. It is sooo yummy!

Mark came up with one of my favorite new combination's. Mint flavor with Oreo cookies in it!! I love it!

We also indulged in going to Avatar. Call me out of the loop, but I hadn't even heard of it!

We got the 3D glasses and everything! It was actually really fun!

Lastly, we decided to get the Christmas tree out of our house. I knew if we didn't do it soon, it could be a fire hazard. One night we took it out of the house and across the street.

We figured since it was such a fire hazard...we might as well head in that direction....

O Christmas Tree!!

It took awhile to get it going...but once it was lit...it didn't stop until it was a charred toothpick!

That was actually pretty fun! And the boys were able to be pyros for a few minutes :)

Thanks everyone for coming out for Christmas! It was really special spending it with all of you.
